Beaten man names attackers before dying

Police are on the search for a group of men suspected of beating a man to death.

Reports indicate that on Wednesday, members of the Northern Division were on patrol along Brazil Road, Wallerfield when the discovered a man lying on the side of the road.

The officers attended to the 49-year-old victim who was bleeding from injuries sustained from allegedly being beaten.

The man was transferred to the Arima Health Facility but succumbed to his injuries.

Police say the man named his attackers before he died.

 

Two La Horquetta men charged with murder

22-year-old Chikizie Jordan and 25-year-old Niel Mitchell will appear before an Arima Magistrate today charged with the murder of 21-year-old Kevon Robinson. 

Robinson, of Kelvin Pope Avenue, Phase 5, La Horquetta, was shot dead while standing outside of his vehicle, along St. Eustace Bernard Drive, Phase 5, La Horquetta.

Jordan was arrested on Monday 12th February 2018, while Mitchell was arrested  Thursday, February 18th, 2018 by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II.

Both men were also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

28-year-old man murdered in Diego Martin

Police are investigating a shooting in Diego Martin which claimed the life of a 28-year-old man.

According to police reports, shortly after 10 pm on Tuesday a man was accosted by a gunman along Holder Lane, Bagatelle.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing several loud explosions.

The police were called in and found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

The man was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

 

Man shot dead in Guayaguayare

A man has been shot and killed in Guayaguayare.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 pm yesterday.

Police reports indicate that the 35-year-old victim Mark Christoper, a security guard was walking along La Sevenne Circular when he was approached by a gunman who opened fire on him.

Murder in Arima

Police are investigating the murder of a man in Arima.

According to police reports, around 9 pm on Monday, the victim identified as Kevin Guy, was walking along Pinto Road when he was accosted by a man.

The two got into an altercation and the assailant subsequently whipped out a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing.

The police were called in and the man taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigations are ongoing.

 

Deputy DPP orders inquest into stabbing death of 17-year-old

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, has ordered an inquest into the stabbing death of 17-year-old Reshard Singh, which occurred on Monday 12th February, 2018, in the Chaguanas district.

A 29-year-old man of Carsen Field, who had been detained in relation to the killing, has been released pending the outcome of the inquest. Singh, of Brad Street, Ramsaran Park, Chaguanas, was walking along the Southern Main Road, Chaguanas, in the vicinity of Factory Road, when he got into an altercation with a group of men.

Scavenger killed in dump

The body of a 28-year-old scavenger was found among the garbage at the Forres Park Landfill in Claxton Bay yesterday.

The victim was later identified as Vijay Ramjattan, of Samad Ali Trace, Claxton Bay.

Police said the body was found around 6 am. The victim’s throat appeared to have been sliced and there were other bruises on the body. According to police reports, Ramjattan’s body was discovered by another scavenger.

Police are still trying to ascertain the circumstances of his murder.

Teenager murdered during Central J'ouvert celebrations

A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed to death, bringing to two the number of murders on Carnival Monday by mid-afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Reshan Singh of Freeport.

Police say the boy was stabbed as he attended J'ouvert celebrations.

Singh was rushed to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he died.

Police now have several people in custody in connection with the incident.

 

Boy, 8, dies after iron pipe attack by relative

Police are now investigating the death of an eight-year-old boy, who reportedly succumbed to injuries he sustained after being beaten with an iron pipe by a close relative yesterday.

Ishmeel Phillips, of Rydale Avenue, Greenvale Park, La Horquetta, collapsed in an unconscious state at his home after the beating. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex Paediatrics Emergency Department by police constable Thaddeus Caraballo.
