More venues to park in Port-of-Spain

Ad­di­tion­al park­ing mea­sures have been im­ple­ment­ed in Port-of-Spain over the next two days to cater to the in­flux of peo­ple flood­ing the cap­i­tal dur­ing the hec­tic Car­ni­val pe­ri­od.

Port-of-Spain Ma­jor Joel Mar­tinez has giv­en ap­proval for park­ing at Nel­son Man­dela

Park on Car­ni­val Mon­day from 1 am to 11 pm and on Car­ni­val Tues­day from 5 am to 11 pm.

A fee of $50 per day or any part there­fore will ap­ply.

Going Maracas on the holiday Monday? Guess what? There's room now for parking

The chaos you've been experiencing trying to find a place to park at Maracas Beach recently might soon be over.

The Ministry of Tourism says it is constructing temporary parking facilities near the fishing complex.

It issued the following statement today:

"As a result of the on-going upgrade works at Maracas Beach, the main car parking facility is no longer available to the public.

Traffic and parking restrictions in Port-of-Spain tomorrow

Police are advising of traffic restrictions in Port-of-Spain for the country’s 54th Independence celebrations.

The following traffic restrictions will take effect from 6 am on Wednesday August 31st and will run to 1 am on Thursday 1st September, 2016.
