Missing 15-year-old schoolgirl found

Fifteen-year-old schoolgirl Christene Alexander of Southern Gardens, Warden Road, Point Fortin, who was reported missing by her mother on Tuesday 23rd August, 2016, has been found, a statement by the Police Service said.

The statement said Christene was returned to her family around 11:30pm Monday 29th August, 2016.

It added that members of the Child Protection Unit are continuing enquiries.

The statement says police are thanking the public for assistance in ensuring the teenager’s safe return.

Los Angeles police serve warrant on Chris Brown's home after woman called for assistance

The Los Angeles police department have served a warrant at singer Chris Brown’s Los Angeles home after a woman called police for assistance.

The robbery and homicide division is handling the incident, officials said.

“There’s still officers at the scene, as of now it’s still ongoing,” a spokesperson told the UK Guardian around 4pm T&T time.

A warrant was served on the property just before 1pm on Tuesday, nearly nine hours after the 911 call was made, the LAPD confirmed.

Brown was not under arrest, officials said.

Body of man found hogtied floating in Gulf of Paria

Police are trying to determine the identity of the body of a man found floating in the Gulf of Paria this morning near the port of Port-of-Spain.

The man was pulled out of the water early this morning after being discovered by port workers.


He was completely naked and found in what is commonly called a "hog-tie" position, with a rope attached to his two legs, his neck and his hands.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Teenager fighting for life after being shot by police

A teenager accused of shooting at police is fighting for his life at the hospital after being wounded by return fire.

The incident took place at Factory Road in Piarco and police are reporting that they were fired upon by occupants of a car after police tried to intercept the vehicle.

Three other suspects managed to escape, but the teenager was wounded.

He was rushed to the hospital where he remains warded.

No firearms were recovered from the scene.


Weed, cigarettes in sneakers meant for prisoner; mother arrested

Police have found marijuana and cigarettes in a pair of shoes that were meant to be delivered to a prisoner.

Police say that around 11am on Thursday, Jeniffer Mc Pherson of Nurse Trace, News Lands Village, Guayaguayare, went to the Mayaro Police station to drop off clothing and toiletries for her son who is on a accused of murder.

Police investigate murders in Point Fortin & Moruga

Less than 24 hours after a man was found killed, another man was murdered in Point Fortin.

Around 7:30 Wednesday evening, residents of Sunset Beach Street, Fanny Village, heard several loud explosions. 

Upon checking they discovered the body of a man identified only as 'Butcher' lying in a pool of blood.

Butcher, a father of four, was a fisherman and well-known to persons in the area.

Police are yet to determine a motive for the murder.
