Garcia: Expect better exam results

Education Minister Anthony Garcia is anticipating a marked improvement of students writing the major academic examinations this year as a result of the ministry’s Penmanship with a Purpose and Clinical Supervision initiatives.

Garcia, in a press release yesterday, said the initiatives being carried out at primary and secondary schools are benefiting students positively and supporting teachers and students at all levels.

Despers, Pan Elders, Pan Groove top pan categories in semis

Desperadoes has topped the big bands in the Panorama Semi-Finals held at the Queen's Park Savannah last evening into this morning.

Judges gave Desperadoes 282 points, one point more that Trinidad All Stars which placed second with 281.

Renegades was third with 276.5 points.

Pan Elders topped the Medium Band category and La Horquetta Pan Groove topped the Small Band Category.

Investigation launched into unauthorised release of SEA results

Education Minister Anthony Garcia is insisting that an investigation will be the launched to determine how some primary school principals reportedly obtained this year's SEA results before the official release time.

Speaking this morning, Minister Garcia said this was a worrying development.

Meanwhile, San Fernando TML has produced this year's top SEA student, and she has been identified as Caitlin Brooker. Caitlin will now go on to her first choice of Naparima Girls High School.

Grabbing the second spot is Michael Beepath of the Avocat Vedic Primary.
