Traffic disruptions due to highway road work westbound from UWI to Curepe

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (Westbound) from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Intersection to the Curepe Intersection (Kaydonna).

This is necessary in order to facilitate road repair works, which commenced on Wednesday 9th May, 2018 and is expected to be complete by Wednesday 23rd May, 2018.

These works will take place between the hours of 8 pm to 4 am.

Motorists are advised to comply with the following:

MY EYE: Bad road in Coryal

Ramsingh says, "Look at what the residents of Bonair Road Coryal faces on a daily basis it's over three years and nothing has been done could someone please help us out because no one seems to care about the residents please fix our roads it's a really scary site when driving..."

MY EYE: Residents fix road on their own

Darien said it shows residents fixing part of the Penal Rock Road on their own, using their own tools, equipment and material to do so.

This comes amid several protests over the condition of the roads in several parts of the country.

Residents protest over bad road conditions in Todds Road

Residents of Todds road staged a fiery protest this morning as the rural community in South Trinidad expressed their frustrations over road conditions.

They say a major landslip in the area is endangering the structures of several homes.

One community member says former Minister of Works Fitzgerald Hinds visited in January 2016 and since then no work has been done. 

Over the last two weeks, a number of communities have staged fiery protests. 

O'Connor Street residents angry as hole damages car

Residents of O'Connor Street, Woodbrook are repeating appeals to the Port-of-Spain City Corporation and Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) to fix a hole on their street, after a vehicle was damaged this morning.

CNC3 has been sent photos by one of the affected persons, showing damage to the front right of the vehicle and a mud guard.

The residents say the hole is located near to the House of Jaipur on the right side of the street.
