Chow 4th in rowing D final

T&T rower Felice Chow placed fourth in the final of the Women's Singles Scull event in Rio this morning.

The event was not a medal race, as she competed in Final D.

Only competitors who qualified for the A final can medal in this event.

Chow clocked her best time of the entire Olympics, rowing 7.50.23 to finished fourth.

She had also finished fourth in the semi-final with a time of 8.20.07.

Chow fourth in rowing C/D semis; qualifies for tomorrow's D final

Trinidad and Tobago rower, Felice Chow has placed fourth in semi-final C/D of the Women's Single Sculls event.

Chow completed the event in a time of 8.20.07 today in a race won by Sanita Puspure of Ireland in 7.53.48.

She has qualified for the D final on Saturday at 8.40 am.

Chow is no longer in contention for a medal, having not qualified for the A final which also takes place on Saturday morning.

Chow is the first female T&T athlete to ever represent this country in an Olympic rowing event.

Felice Chow moves on to Wednesday's semi-final with 5th place quarter-final row

Felice Chow Single has placed fifth in the quaterfinal of the Women's SIngle Sculls Rowing event in Rio, which earns her a place in semifinals C/D on Wednesday.

However she is out of contention for a medal, as only the top three places in each quartefinal remain in contention for a medal as they move on to semi-finals A/B.

Chow clocked a time of 8.02.53.

Chow was on action in quarter final two, with rowers from Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Sweden and Egypt.

The race was won by Genevra Ston of the USA in a time of 7.27.04.

Chow qualifies for quarter-final with 2nd place row

T&T female rower Felice Chow has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Women's Single Scull event at the Rio Olympics.

Chow placed second in the repechage race that was postponed from Sunday to this morning.

She clocked a time of 8.04.91 to better the 8.31.83 she clocked in the qualifying race on Saturday morning.

She was second to Algeria who clocked 8.04.21.

The quarter-finals are at 8.10 on Tuesday.

Laser sailer Andrew Lewis is next up for Trinidad and Tobago, in the dinghy competition just after noon today.

T&T rower Felice Chow fifth in single sculls event

Female T&T rower Felice Chow finished 5th in her heat in the single sculls rowing event this morning.

Chow, 39, finished in a time of 8.31.83, finishing down the field of 5 in heat six.

Emma Twigg of New Zealand won in a time of 8.17.02.

Chow showed great strength and was in second place for a portion of the race before she faded.

Her time was the 25th best out of a field of 32 in all heats.

She will now go on to the Repechage in the same event at 7am tomorrow.

Felice Chow is first T&T athlete to compete in Rio in rowing competition Saturday

You don't have to wait long to see Trinidad and Tobago's first competitive event at the Olympics, it will be as early as 9.20 Saturday morning.

39-year-old Felice Chow, who became the first Trinidad and Tobago national to ever secure a berth for the red, white and black in the discipline of rowing, will also be the first T&T athlete to compete. 

Chow will be in the Women's Single Sculls Rowing event, getting into action at 9.20 am in Heat 6.

At 39, Chow is older than the average Olympian at this year’s Games.
