Investigations this afternoon into the death of a woman at the Sangre Grande General Hospital.
Reports are Shivana Laura Sookram went to the maternity clinic yesterday where it was discovered that her baby had no heartbeat.
An emergency caesarean was arranged and performed around 5 o’clock last afternoon to remove the dead baby.
Two hours later the woman was warded at the intensive care unit of the hospital after being stabilized.
Police are probing the death of a 2-month-old baby girl in Sangre Grande.
Reports are little Diana Maharaj was found to be unresponsive this morning by her father some time around 4am.
This after her mother had fed her just hours before and put her to bed.
The child was rushed to the Sangre Grande General Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Swine Flu virus has claimed yet another victim, this time a 56-year-old woman who has been warded at the Sangre Grande Hospital.
The confirmation comes from the Ministry of Health, which issued the following statement today:
"The Ministry of Health notes with sadness the passing of 56 year old Seedaye Ramkissoon, a patient of the Sangre Grande Hospital who passed away following a seventeen (17) day stay in the Intensive Care Unit due to complications that arose from a combination of hypertension and H1N1 Influenza.
