Two men were arrested by officers of the TTPS’ Northern Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Maloney Policing District on Tuesday 21 January, 2020.
According to official police reports, while officers were conducting a search warrant at Maloney Gardens, they seized one Glock 17 pistol, fitted with a magazine and 13 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition. Police also seized one kilogram of marijuana found at the premises.
A male occupant was arrested for the find.
An Anti-Crime Exercise conducted yesterday in the Northern Division has resulted in three persons being arrested, and the seizure of one round of 12-gauge cartridge, camouflage clothing and an army jacket and trousers.
An official statement from the TTPS explains that during the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at a house in Hilltop Drive, Maturita Extension, Arima, where the items were found and seized, and the two male occupants of the house at the time of the search were arrested.

According to a police report, during a police exercise which commenced at 4 am and lasted for three hours, officers executed a search of several homes.
In one of the homes, the officers executed a search warrant for arms and ammunition at the home of a suspect they had intelligence on.
A St. Joseph couple has been arrested for possession of arms, ammunition and narcotics.
The arrest occurred during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Northern Division last night, conducted by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Phillip, was conducted the between 6:15pm and 8:45pm, on Monday 6 January 2020.
According to official police reports, officers involved in the exercise proceeded to a house at Agostini Street, St. Joseph, where they executed a search warrant.
A man from Wallerfield is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today on gun-related charges.
The suspect was arrested during an intelligence-led police exercise on Thursday that took place at his home at Jump Street, off Demerara Road, Wallerfield.
Official police reports indicate that officers of the Northern Division, under the supervision of Snr Sup Paul, executed a search warrant in the presence of the suspect.
A pump-action homemade shotgun was found and seized.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged for possession of a firearm.
An anti-crime exercise in the St James district last evening resulted in the seizure of two illegal firearms and 579 rounds of assorted ammunition.
The exercise was conducted by members of the Western Division Task Force.
According to official police reports, officers executed a search warrant at the unoccupied home of a deceased, suspected gang leader, at David Street, Bourne’s Road, St James.
At the premises, police found and seized:
One man was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Cunupia Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the district last night.
During the exercise, on Monday October 14th, officers executed a search warrant at the Raghunanan Road, Cunupia home of a 32-year-old man.
The search resulted in officers finding one black and chrome Beretta pistol, two magazines and 23 rounds of ammunition in the house.
The suspect, who was in the house at the time of the exercise, was arrested in connection with the find.
