San Juan man held for shooting incident

A San Juan man is currently in police custody in connection with a shooting incident involving a 31-year-old man, which occurred on Wednesday 22nd August, 2018.

The suspect, a 28-year-old of Laventille Road, San Juan, was arrested by officers attached to the San Juan Criminal Investigations Department, around 4:55 pm, on the same date of the incident.

The victim, of Febeau Village, was in the process of disassembling a derelict vehicle to be sold as parts for scrap iron along Laventille Road, San Juan, around 1:30 pm on Wednesday 22nd August, 2018.

16 year old warded at hospital after shootout with police

A 16-year-old boy is warded at the hospital following a shootout with police officers.

According to police reports during a police, exercise officers proceeded to a house at Lendore Village, Enterprise, to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition.

Upon approaching the house, officers observed three male suspects flee the premises and gave chase. 

While in pursuit, the suspects shot several times at the officers, who returned fire. 

Teen held after shooting at police

A 16-year-old boy is currently under police guard, at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, after being arrested for shooting with intent at police officers during an anti-crime exercise in the Enterprise district.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram, took place between 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm on Wednesday 15th August, 2018.

During the exercise officers proceeded to a house at Lendore Village, Enterprise, to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition.

Drive-by Shooting in Penal

A man is warded in hospital following a shooting incident in penal. According to police reports, around 9 pm on Sunday a motorcar pulled alongside a group of people in the vicinity of Vedales Bar, Penal Junction. One of the occupants opened fire in their direction before the driver sped off. The victim was taken to hospital where he is said to be listed in a stable condition. 

Lopinot murder caught on camera

The fatal shooting of 33-year-old businessman Quincy Gill was caught on camera.

Gill, of Bregon Park, D'abadie was shot around 6:45 am when he turned up at his Lopinot Junction business place.

He eventually died at hospital.

Anyone who can identify the shooter should contact the police.

Man shot in Lopinot

A 33-year-old man is currently warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex following a shooting incident this morning.

Reports indicate that around 6:45 am, the victim arrived at his business place at Lopinot Junction, Arouca, when he was accosted by an armed assailant. 

There was an altercation and the assailant subsequnelty shot the man before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police were contacted and the wounded man taken to hospital where he is said the be in a critical condition.
 

 

Curepe casino shooting suspect appears in court

A Laventille man has appeared before a Tunapuna Magistrate charged in connection with a shooting incident, at a casino in Curepe, which was captured on CCTV and later circulated on social media.

The incident occurred on Saturday 2nd June, 2018, and left two security guards wounded.

Aaron Lightbourne, 27, of Mc Shine Lands, Laventille, was granted $350,000 bail by Senior Magistrate Indrani Cedeno when he appeared before the Tunapuna 1st Magistrates’ Court on Friday 8th June, 2018, on nine charges, including two counts of shooting with intent.
