Businessman shot, two held

A Couva businessman is fighting for his life at the hospital after being shot about the body this morning.

It is being reported that the owner of Ernie’s Electrical store was shot in an attack that took place at Camden Road Couva.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are unclear at this time, however, two suspects have been arrested.

Police say the two were held after their getaway car crashed close to the crime scene.

Man and woman shot dead in car in Marabella

Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a man and a woman in a car in Marabella.

The murders occurred outside the Kosuma Bar on the corner of New Haven and John streets just after seven tonight.

The victims are both said to be Chinese descent.

Police are investigating.

International: Disgruntled fired employee shoots five workers in Orlando, kills himself

A disgruntled former employee at an Orlando, Florida RV accessory business fatally shot five workers Monday morning before turning the gun on himself, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting was first reported around 8 a.m. at the headquarters for Fiamma, Inc. Once deputies arrived on scene, they found three men and one woman already dead, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said during a press conference.

A fifth man was transported to a nearby hospital where he died, according to Demings.

Taxi driver shot by police officer in towing incident

An investigation is on following the shooting of a 36-year-old taxi driver by a woman police officer in San Fernando last night.

According to reports, the man of Ridgewood Gardens, Golconda, parked his vehicle at the Ste Madeleine taxi stand on Coffee Street, in the vicinity of Machismo Bar around 5.20 pm.

Police say two constables attempted to find the driver and when they could not, they ordered a wrecker to remove the vehicle.

Police say the man appeared and entered the vehicle at the driver's side and began reversing.

Man shot in San Fernando

A shooting incident has left one man fighting for his life at hospital.

Around 7.20 pm on Wednesday Kyle Collins was sitting in a white Nissan Laurel at Matthew Street in Marabella, when a lone gunman approached him and opened fire.

Residents notified the police and the man was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he is warded in a critical condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

Developing: Police officer shot dead, another injured in Paris attack

Armed police have blocked off the Champs Elysees in Paris after an officer was killed and another wounded in a shooting.

A report citing a police source said the person who fired on officers had been killed in turn.

There were at least two attackers and police said the shooting was very probably a "terrorist act".

Police urged people to avoid the area.

A witness identified only as Ines told French television station BFM that she heard a shooting, saw a man's body on the ground and the area was quickly evacuated by police.

Police shoot homeless man on Frederick Street

Police have shot and injured a man on Frederick Street next to City Hall.

The man has been rushed to hospital.

According to reports, the homeless man attempted to rob the occupant of a passing vehicle just after noon today.

He was confronted by police after an alarm was raised and police say the man turn and attacked them forcing them to open fire.

The man is said to be a former police officer.

He is being treated at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

International: Two dead, two injured in San Bernadino school shooting

Two adults are dead in a San Bernardino North Park Elementary School classroom in what is believed to be murder-suicide, San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan tweeted.

Authorities believe the suspect is down and there is no further threat, Burguan said.

California authorities responded to a report of a shooting at the school.

Two students were transported to a hospital.

The other students in the school were being evacuated and taken to a nearby school.

19-year-old Diego Martin man shot dead on Duncan Street

Police are investigating a murder on Duncan Street in Port of Spain Monday morning.

The shooting incident occurred 9 am. 

The victims has been identified as 19-year-old Kareem Richardson of Factory Road, Diego Martin.

Police say they responded to reports of loud explosions.

They say Richardson was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

He died while undergoing treatment. 

Investigations are continuing.
