Footballers off for Martinique clash today

T&T’s se­nior men’s foot­ball team will ar­rive in Fort-de-France today ahead of Fri­day's CON­CA­CAF Na­tions League qual­i­fi­er against Mar­tinique.

Coach Den­nis Lawrence is ex­pect­ed to con­duct a fi­nal train­ing ses­sion at the match venue this evening be­fore go­ing af­ter a pos­i­tive start to their cam­paign, which will con­tin­ue on Mon­day with an en­counter against their coun­ter­parts (Mar­tinique) at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo from 9 pm.

Bramble, Phillip and Paul sprint to cycling gold

Trinidad and To­ba­go's sprint cy­clists tast­ed gold for the sec­ond time in just over a month, this time blow­ing away the op­po­si­tion in the men's team sprint event at the 2019 Elite Pan Amer­i­can Track Cy­cling Cham­pi­onships in Cochabam­ba, Bo­livia on Wednes­day night.

In the process, the trio of Keron Bram­ble, Njisane Phillip and Nicholas Paul set a new Pan Amer­i­can record and a new na­tion­al record of 41.938 sec­onds rid­ing in the Elite Pan Amer­i­can fi­nal against Ar­genti­na's Farid Suarez, Juan Ser­ra­no and Lu­cas Vi­lar who clocked 44.474 sec­onds.
