A 14-year-old girl, who is believed to be a victim of human trafficking, was among 22 females detained at a ‘Secret Sunday’ pool party busted by officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) after midnight on Sunday.
They were found in a house at Chancellor Heights, Upper Lady Chancellor Road, St Ann’s in Port-of-Spain.
A 35-year-old man from Princes Town, accused of issuing death threats to Police Commissioner Gary Griffith and his wife, has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation.
Mahindra Ramnath, a medical school dropout from Palmyra Village, Princes Town, was remanded to the St Ann's Psychiatric Hospital when he appeared before Magistrate Sanara Toon-McQuilkin in the Port-of-Spain Magistrate's Court, this morning.
A St Anns outpatient has been shot and killed by police during an altercation.
Reports indicate that police were called to the Rich Plain area around 7 pm on Thursday after residents reported that a man had been acting violent.
Upon reaching the scene, police officers attempted to subdue 30-year-old Paul Marchan.
However, the man resisted and launched an attack on the lawmen.
It is reported that Marchan slashed one of the officers with a broken bottle and then attempted to stab the other with a knife.
Police are investigating the murder of a 30-year-old man in St Ann's on Monday.
Police reports indicate that residents heard loud explosions and upon checking found Motape Hutchinson's body lying on the road.
Hutchinson, of Ariapita Road, St Ann's, was shot multiple times.
Police are continuing investigations.

Commuters travelling along the St Anns and St James routes from Port-of-Spain will have to dig deeper into their pockets to travel as taxi operators increase fares by one dollar.
According to the vice-president of the St Ann's Taxi Association Ronald Frederick, the hike in the fare will take effect from June 1st.
He added that all off route increases will be based on information from the tariff.
Frederick cited that the fare increase, which comes 8 years since the last adjustment, was as a result of the removal of the fuel subsidy and also of the cost of living.
Police say five of the six inmates who escaped from the St Ann’s Hospital, Forensic Ward, between midnight last night and 1:50am today Tuesday 29th March, 2016, have been recaptured and returned to the institution.
They have been identified as Kyron Lewis, Maikie Hendrickson, 20, Gabriel Solomon 26, Michael Thomas, 26, and Andre Harvey who were recaptured within hours of their escape.
A 40-year-old St Ann's man is the latest confirmed case of Zika in this country.

"The Ministry of Health, following consultation with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) wishes to inform the public that one additional case of the Zika virus in Trinidad has been confirmed. This brings the total number of confirmed Zika cases in Trinidad to seven. There are at this time, no confirmed cases in Tobago.
