Residents of Upper Long Circular Road, St James have shared a video with us, highlighting a leaking water main.

The resident say that since December they have made calls for the authorities to fix the problem.

The residents have shared the video to raise awareness to the situation, in light of the current restrictions on water.

The video has been sent to WASA for action.

Another woman is murdered

Another woman has been murdered.

Police are on the scene of a murder at Dundonald Hill in St James, where the body of a 35-year-old woman was found dead this afternoon.

The vicitm has been identified as Nadine Smith.

Reports indicate that the woman's head was bashed in.

A manhunt has been launched for a male suspect known to the woman. 

 

St James to turn into mini-Carnival Saturday night for WeBeat Parade

Thirteen (13) mobile steel orchestras, three stationary steelbands, Traditional Mas Characters and Brite Nite Bands will on Saturday transform the Western Main Road into a mini Carnival as the St James Community Improvement Committee (St. James CIC) brings down the curtain on this year’s WeBeat St. James Live festivities.

No vehicular traffic will be allowed, instead from 7 pm the Western Main Road will be the playing field for hundreds of steel pans and players continuing until 2 am on Sunday.

37-year-old St James man held with gun, ammunition, drugs

A 37-year-old St James man is now in police custody, after he was found to be in possession of a weapon and a quantity of ammunition and narcotics.

Police say that around 2:15 pm on Sunday 2nd April, 2017, a party of officers on mobile patrol in the St James Police district, responded to a report of two men conducting narcotic sales at Dundonald Hill.

On seeing the officers, the two men ran off.

One of the suspects was apprehended a short distance away, while the second man managed to escape.

Murder in St James

Police are investigating the murder of a 39-year-old man in St James last night.

Denzil Eccles was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds on Jeffers Lane in St James.

Residents heard several loud explosions around 7pm before discovering the man's body.

This follows the shooting death of another man in Aranguez earlier in the day.

Homicide Bureau officers are investigating.

Bar owner shot dead in St James

A bar owner was shot and killed at his business place this morning.

According to police reports, just after midnight Earl Douglas was at his bar, Dougie's Bar in St James, when a lone gunman entered the premises and shot him.

Police have ruled out robbery as a motive for the shooting.

Investigations are continuing.

Man gives names of enemies months before being murdered

Five years ago there was an attempted murder on Mark John’s life but the death threats continued and days before he was killed, John, 27, of St James, gave three names of his enemies to several people, including a senior warrant officer, from the area.

Around 5.30 am yesterday a man on his way to work, found John’s body along a track at Bourne’s Road. He had been shot several times. 

Police said residents reported hearing several gunshots around 11 pm Monday but no one went outside to investigate.

Bullet-riddled body found in St James

The body of a man bearing multiple gunshot wounds has been discovered in St James.

According to reports, around 11 pm last night, residents of Bournes Road in St James heard several loud explosions.

The police were notified and a team of officers from the Western Division Task Force responded but did not discover anything unusual.

However, around 5 am a man stumbled across the bullet-riddled body of 27-year-old Matthew John.

Investigations are ongoing.
