Two Tobago men charged with robbery with aggravation, larceny

Two persons have appeared in the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, charged with robbery with aggravation.

One of the individuals also faces a charge of larceny stemming from a separate incident.

Kurson Deprandine, 30, of Arnos Vale Road, Les Choteau, and Danel Murray, 19, of Top River, Charlotteville, were arrested and charged for robbery with aggravation against 32-year-old Nikeshorn Peters, of Parlatuvier.

Peters was shot at and robbed of his vehicle, a quantity of cash and a cellular phone at Mt. Dillon, on Thursday 16th March, 2017.

23-year-old Tobago man charged with robbery with violence

A 23-year-old man appeared in the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday 5th April, 2017, charged with robbery with violence.

Okira Holder, 23, of Bacolet, Scarborough, was arrested and charged on Monday 3rd April, 2017, for robbery with violence, against 37-year-old Kirby Clement.

The charge was laid by WPC Marcelle.

Clement was beaten and robbed of his vehicle, a cellular phone and a quantity of cash, by four men, in Mason Hall, on Monday 27th March, 2017. 

The matter was postponed to Wednesday 3rd May, 2017. 

Investigations continue into drowning death of 2-year-old girl in Tobago

Investigations continue into the drowning death of two-year old child in Tobago.

Reports indicate that Chyna Robert was left in the care of an aunt and uncle at Rennaisance, Roxborough.

Around midday Saturday, Chyna walked out the sight of the adults.

Her uncle found her climbing a ladder to an inflatable adult sized pool.

By the time he ran for the child she jumped into the pool.

The man recovered the child's body however she was unconscious.

He tried CPR but was unsuccessful.

Police were called to the scene.

Tobago police officer charged with rape

A 21-year-old Tobago police constable has been arrest charged with rape.

According to reports, around 10:55 pm on Monday 27th February 2017, the 27-year-old victim was at Renaissance Roxborough when she made prior arrangement with a man whom she knows as a police officer to take her to her home.

However, on arrival to her home, the man then requested to enter her apartment to take a rest.

The woman obliged but according to reports, the man then lifted her bodily, placed her on her bed and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.

15-year-old Tobago student found with throat slit

A 15-year-old girl has been found murdered in Tobago.

The body of Abiela Adams, a student of the Signal Hill Secondary School, was discovered in a pile of garbage in Courland.

She was reported missing last night.

Police has a suspect in custody who they are questioning about the murder.

This is the 4th murder the island has recorded this year, the same for the whole of 2016.

Murder in Buccoo, Tobago

Tobago has recorded its third murder with the drive-by killing of a man last night.

Junior “Coppa” Roberts was shot multiple times at Buccoo, Tobago.

According to police reports, Roberts was driving when a car pulled alongside and the assailants fired on him.

He was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital where he later died.

Tobago registered a total of four murders in 2016.


PM: Exciting times ahead for Tobago

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is promising that the next four years will be among the most exciting times in Tobago's history.

He made the claim while addressing PNM supporters at a victory rally in Scarborough Monday night after the party won the THA election for the fifth consecutive time.

The party won 10 seats with the Progressive Democratic Party winning two but one seat, Belle Garden/Goodwood will be recounted because the PNm won by a tight five votes.

Third passenger in Tobago accident dies

A third victim in Sunday's tragic accident in Tobago has died.

Quincy Daniel passed at the Scarborough General Hospital Monday morning, according to a Facebook post by his sister.

Daniel was in a vehicle with the two other victims Keylon Chapman of Belmont Road Mason Hall Tobago, and Trevaughn Noray of Moriah, who both died on the scene. 

Police say Chapman, the driver, last control of the vehicle and struck an electricity pole on the Claude Noel Highway around 4.15 Sunday morning.
