'Ratty' charged with rape of two UK tourists in Tobago

A 34-year old Trinidadian residing in Tobago is due to appear before the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court today after being charged with the kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault of two United Kingdom tourists.

Artherly ‘Ratty’ Fraser of Canaan, was charged with two counts of rape, two counts of grievous sexual assault, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery, on Thursday 14th March, 2019.

Fraser was charged following a report made by two female tourists to the Shirvan Road Police Station on Monday 11th March, 2019.

Six Caribbean countries saw tourist declines last year, T&T included

While most of the focus has been on the growth in Caribbean tourism last year and the countries that saw an increasing number of visitors, lost in the shuffle were those countries that saw far fewer tourists compared to 2015. Here are the six Caribbean countries that saw a drop in stop-over tourist arrivals in 2016 according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s latest ‘Performance of the Tourism Industry’ report:
