As works continue on the Curepe Interchange, one driver is said to have ignored the height restrictions while approaching the work site.
Reports indicate that the driver of the truck ignored the height restriction, even after being told that he could not continue beyond a particular point at Valsayn before the Interchange.
Reports are that the truck driver attempted to manoeuvre the truck beneath the temporary height restriction barrier and the barrier collapsed after the truck came into contact with it, while another approaching vehicle was hit by the falling barrier.
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising motorists and members of the general public of traffic restrictions along the Siparia Road, South Oropouche, in the vicinity of the intersection with the South Trunk Road, on Friday February 23, 2018 between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm.
WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate interconnection works associated with the ongoing transmission pipeline upgrade in the area.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution in the vicinity of the jobsite and to obey the instructions of the police officers on duty.
The Ministry of Works and Transport says that from 7pm Monday 3rd October, 2016 to 5am Tuesday 4th October, 2016, there will be a temporary traffic disruption at #1 Boissiere Village, Maraval due to ongoing land stabilization works.
As a result, the Ministry is advising of traffic restrictions that will be in effect from Saddle Road between the Roundabout at KFC (North) and Rapsey Street (South).
