Traffic adjustments as work on Sealots overpass begins

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising that work on the Sea Lots Overpass has started and will lead to traffic adjustments.

The Ministry issued a statement today outlining the traffic arrangements.

"The Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency (PURE) Unit of the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that construction of the Sea Lots Pedestrian Overpass is currently ongoing between north of the Port of Spain Central Market Compound and south of the SWMCOL Transfer Facility Compound.

Traffic disruptions expected for military funeral of late Sgt Guevara

The military is warning of traffic disruptions with the funeral service for the late Sergeant Christian Guevara of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard on Saturday 29 April 2017.

The funeral takes place at 10:00 am at the Open Bible Standard Church, Palo Seco.

A Military Procession will then follow into the Los Bajos Public Cemetery located on the S.S Erin Road, Palo Seco.

The military said in a statement that this procession may result in minor traffic delays for commuters along S.S Erin Road between the hours of 12 noon and 2:00 pm.

Road work to cause traffic disruption on highway

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising of a temporary traffic disruption from Wednesday 22nd March, 2017 to Tuesday 4th April, 2017 from 10am to 6pm daily, along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway (Westbound) between NIHERST and the Piarco Intersection.

The Ministry says this is necessary in order to facilitate road rehabilitation works which are expected to take place during this period.

In light of the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:-

'Depression' in road near lighthouse causing heavy traffic into Port-of-Spain

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising that due to a depression in the middle lane before the lighthouse, westbound into Port of Spain, there is a backup of traffic in this area.

Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes into Port of Spain.

The Ministry says it has contacted the relevant authorities to assist in returning the lane to its normal operation in the shortest amount of time.

The depression has occurred in the same area where a sinkhole occurred in 2012.

Traffic restrictions around Memorial Park for parade rehearsal

The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force is advising the motoring public of traffic restrictions in the vicinity of Memorial Park Port of Spain, today and Sunday.

Thursday 10th November 2016 – between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. To facilitate the parade rehearsal

Sunday 13th November 2016 (Memorial Day)– from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For the hosting of the actual Memorial Day Parade.

The restrictions will affect:

WASA installation to disrupt traffic Saturday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is warning of traffic restrictions along the bus route on Saturday, particularly in St Joseph.

WASA says it will be carrying out a pipeline installation that will affect the free flow of traffic.

The following is WASA's statement:

"The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises road users and members of the general public of traffic restrictions along the Priority Bus Route (PBR), St. Joseph on Saturday 15th October 2016, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.
