An American citizen has lost his life and his wife is desperately trying to hold on to hers after the car in which they were travelling, collided with another near Trincity Mall last night.
The victim has been identified as Cecil White.
Police say that around 11.40 last night, the victim and his wife were passengers in TAT 1764, when the vehicle attempted to turn onto the Trincity Central Road via the intersection at the mall.
It was trying to make that turn, that the car was hit by another vehicle.
Convicted terrorist Kareem Ibrahim has died at a Maximum Security Prison in Springfield, Missouri.
Attorney Fareed Scoon says the 70-year-old died of heart failure. He says he had been ailing for the last two weeks with a heart problem.
Ibrahim was convicted on May 26th, 2011 of conspiracy to launch a terrorist attack at the John F Kennedy Airport in New York in 2007.
He was convicted together with Guyanese nationals Russell Defreitas and Abdul Kadir.
The trio was arrested in Trinidad in June 2007 and extradited to the US to face trial.
Seasoned performers Shurwayne Winchester, Farmer Nappy, Blaxx and Patrice Roberts have all qualified for the final of the Internaional Soca Monarch competition on Fantastic Friday.

The Government is preparing to draft legislation to ensure that the appointee to the post of Commissioner of Police, is a national of Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister of Communications, Maxie Cuffie made the announcement at today's post-Cabinet media conference.
He told the media that the Government will also source a local firm to conduct the process of selecting a Commissioner of Police.
The Minister told the media that this change was based on a committment given by the People's National Movement while in Opposition. He says it was also a manifesto promise.

The Soca Warriors were completed outdone as Brazil raced to a 4-nil lead at the end of the 1st half. They added five goals in just 18 minutes of the second half to move to 9-nil as they scored at will, eventually ending at 11 without reply at the Arena das Dunas.
Trinidad and Tobago has been ranked as the 43rd best place to live in the world, according to the World Prosperity Index released today.
The index ranks the prosperity of 142 nations and is done annually by the UK-based Legatum Institute.
The Index has eight sub-categories, with 1 being the highest number and 142 the lowest.
Trinidad and Tobago's highest ranking was in the category of "Personal Freedom", in which this country ranked 28th of the 142 countries ranked.
