Petrotrin has called in the police to investigate an oil leak in Fyzabad.
In a statement the company says on Thursday during routine checks in the field, a production operator noticed that five wellhead valves on an oil well located in Sewlal Trace, Fyzabad were removed and around one barrel of crude oil had leaked into the area.
Petrotrin officials immediately ensured that the valves were closed to prevent more oil from leaking and notified the police. The EMA, as well as the Ministry of Energy, were also notified.

CNC3’s Anchor and news reporter Khamal Georges’ vehicle has been found, again.
This time at Roget Place, Belmont. The SUV is currently at the Belmont Police Station where it will be processed again.
On Thursday morning around 2 am, Mr Georges’ vehicle was stolen at gunpoint by mask men in St. James.
Police officers later discovered the vehicle at Bath Street Plannings in Port of Spain. It was taken to the Besson Street Police Station. At around 7:45 pm on Thursday the Kia Sportage was stolen from the police station.
Less than 24 hours after CNC3's Khamal Georges vehicle was stolen and recovered, it was stolen again from outside of the Besson Street Police Station.
CNC3 understands an officer on duty was making checks of the compound this afternoon when he noticed the van was not where it was stationed on the roadway.
The officer understood that Khamal Georges, who had visited the Besson Street station earlier, was told to return with his certified copy for the vehicle.
