CNC3 News Anchor vehicle stolen, again

Less than 24 hours after CNC3's Khamal Georges vehicle was stolen and recovered, it was stolen again from outside of the Besson Street Police Station.
CNC3 understands an officer on duty was making checks of the compound this afternoon when he noticed the van was not where it was stationed on the roadway.
The officer understood that Khamal Georges, who had visited the Besson Street station earlier, was told to return with his certified copy for the vehicle.

Man in Court for Murder of Labourer

A man from Mon Repos has appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate, charged with the murder of Reon Massy who was killed on Monday 23rd July 2018.
28-year-old Antonio Joseph of Naparima Mayaro Road, Mon Repos, was charged with murder, when he appeared before Magistrate Alicia Chanka, in the San Fernando 1st Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
 The matter was adjourned to Monday 3rd September 2018.
32-year-old Massy, a labourer, of Smith Street, Mon Repos, was found with gunshot wounds about the body at an apartment complex in the vicinity of the Mon Repos Police Station.

‘Pappy’ Appears in Court for Murder

A Cocorite man appeared before Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddle.
The murder of Shaquime Williams, which occurred on Sunday 15th April 2018. 
27-year-old Nester Sammy, aka “Pappy of Harding Place, Cocorite, appeared in the Port of Spain 8th Magistrates’ Court, today, to answer to the charge. 
The matter was adjourned to Friday 14th September 2018. 
23-year-old Williams also of Harding Place, Cocorite, was found dead with bullet wounds about the body in the vicinity of the Harding Place recreation ground. 

Mac-10 sub-machine and ammo found in Las Lomas

A Sub-Machine Gun and Ammo has been Found in Las Lomas.
The discovery was made by officers of the Central Division Special Crime Unit, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Las Lomas district on Thursday. The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram, and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith included officers of the Las Lomas Police Post and the Canine Unit and was conducted between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Central Division welcomes Gary Griffith

Police Commissioner-Designate Gary Griffith is receiving support from officers of various ranks of the police service following his appointment.
According to asp Richard Smith of the central division, officers are ready and willing to work with Griffith with the common goal of reducing the country's crime rate.
ASP Richard said “We don’t know Mr Griffith personally but we have a new Commissioner and we will continue to serve the nation” 
He went on to pledge his support for Mr Griffith.

 

 

 

Rifle found in Cunupia

One man is arrested during an anti-crime exercise in Cunupia. 
A rifle and quantity of ammunition have been seized,
Officers of the Central Division Task Force Cunupia district led by Sgt. Glen Persad, conducted the exercise around 9:00 pm, on Wednesday 1st August 2018, during which they executed a search warrant at the Jonathan Trace, Cunupia home of a 24-year-old man. 

Mother and one-year-old son missing

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a woman and her baby boy.
CNC3 news understands that Tenisha Soogrim and her ONE-year- old son Vitaly Soogrim were last seen on July 23rd.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the missing woman and her child is asked to contact the police at 999, 555, 911, or 800-tips.

 

Officer rewarded for good deed

A Port of Spain Magistrate has ordered that a $500 reward be given to Constable McLean of the Transit Police Unit after he chased after a thief and recovered a stolen cellphone on Wednesday. The defendant, 19-year-old Keno Stewart of Village Council Street Laventille was placed on a $20, 000 bond to keep the peace for two years after he pleaded guilty to the offence of larceny of the person.
