16-year-old Valencia boy reported missing

Police are seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 16-year-old Tariq Mohamed.

Tariq, of Eastern Main Road, Valencia, was last seen at home around 11 pm on Sunday 14th May, 2017.

He was reported missing to the Valencia Police Station, around 9:50 pm on Tuesday 16th May, 2017, by his father, Aftab Mohammed.

Tariq is of East Indian descent, 6 feet tall, slim built, with a light brown complexion and has short hair.

He was last seen wearing a pair of blue ¾ pants and a black jersey.

Murder in Valencia

Police are investigating the murder of a man in Valencia this afternoon.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after midday police responded to reports of gunshots heard at Claudia Drive near the district's post office.

Officers responded and found the body of a man in the street.

A district medical officer examined the body and ordered the removal to the Forensic Sciences Centre.

The killing took the murder toll to 179.

27-year-old Valencia man shot dead

A 27-year-old man has been shot and killed.

The victim has been identified as Adrian Julian of Clarence Trace, Valencia.

Residents reported hearing loud explosions on Sunday evening.

Police were contacted and discovered Julien lying in a pool of blood.

He was taken to the Sangre Grande hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.


Teen escapes kidnap attempt

The search is on for two men wanted in connection with the failed abduction of a teenaged girl this morning.

Officials from the anti-kidnapping unit are investigating a report in which a 17-year-old girl was almost abducted from her home this morning.

Police say that around five this morning, the teenager was sitting with a family member outside her home along Oropouche Road, Valencia when they were accosted by two masked men.

Two men discovered shot execution-style in Valencia

Two men have been found shot dead in Valencia, in what police describe as execution-style killings.

Police are currently on the scene.

Reports indicate that around 7 am Friday, a Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) worker went to Well #2 on the Valencia stretch in Sangre Grande where he discovered the men.

The two men were found lying on their stomachs with their hands bound behind their backs.

Their bodies bore gunshot wounds in their heads and upper torsos.
