A pharmaceutical consultant says he will take legal action against the State if a million dollar deal falls through because of the Government’s failure to put proper structures in place for Venezuelan visas.
Linwald Beharry, a consultant with a major strategic firm, said he started negotiating with a Panama-based company to provide pharmaceuticals to T&T, two years ago.
Government is “trying to ensure” it has sufficient resources at its Caracas embassy to process visa applications for Venezuelans. But some Venezuelans have appealed for a brief waiver for those travelling this week since visa information is not forthcoming from the embassy.
National Security Minister Stuart Young yesterday spoke about trying to “ensure sufficient resources” to process the visa applications.
Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi has reinforced that not all person applying for visas to the United States are required to have the new polymer certificates of birth, marriage and death.
The AG pointed to the wording of the US Embassy's statement, stating that the new provisions are for immigrant visas.
Immigrant visas are for persons seeking to relocate and live in the United States.
However, persons seeking to visit the US on vacation or for business require non-immigrant visas.
