Water disruptions in parts of South Trinidad on Thursday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of South Trinidad served by the Navet Water Treatment Plant, that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on Thursday 5th April 2018, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to carry out emergency repair works to a ruptured 20-inch transmission main in the vicinity of Glenroy Settlement, Princes Town.

Areas that would be affected include:

§ Along Naparima Mayaro Road from Princes Town to St. Clements;

WASA pushes for rate hike

The Water and Sewerage Authority says it is in dire need of a rate increase because it was spending more money to supply the nation water than it receives from customers.

According to chairman Romney Thomas the public utility company is in a dire financial situation where “despite the monopoly status WASA’s revenues are way below operating costs resulting in a heavy dependence on subventions from the Government.”

WASA hoping to fix St James water problem by noon

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in St. James and environs who are still without a water supply that this is due to ongoing repairs to the ruptured 21-inch transmission main along Serpentine Road, St. Clair, Port of Spain, which has been unavoidably delayed.

WASA says its crews are working to complete the repair works with completion schedules for 12 noon today.

Areas that continue to be affected include:

· Long Circular and environs

Water disruptions in Port-of-Spain today

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in Port-of-Spain and environs, served by the El Socorro Booster Station, who are currently experiencing an interruption in their water supply, that this is due to a ruptured 21-inch transmission main, along Serpentine Road, St. Clair, Port of Spain.

Damage to the pipeline was done overnight by a third-party contractor carrying out excavation works in the area.

WASA says emergency repairs are scheduled to be completed by 4 pm today - Tuesday 27, March 2018.

Water interruptions in South West Trinidad tomorrow

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of South West Trinidad that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Wednesday March 21st, 2018 between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate repairs to a defective valve in the vicinity of Mosquito Creek.

WASA: Mechanical problems causing water shortage in South-West Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of South-West Trinidad served by the South Oropouche Booster Station, who are currently experiencing low water pressures and in some cases no water that this is due to mechanical problems currently being experienced at the facility.

WASA says it is presently engaged in carrying out the necessary repairs, which are expected to be completed by 9 pm on Saturday March 10, 2018.

Flooding affecting supply of water to northern Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in North, Central and South Trinidad served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, who are currently experiencing low water pressures or in some cases no water that, this is due to reduced production at the plant, caused by flooding at the facility following torrential rainfall on Sunday.

WASA says it is currently engaged in carrying out remedial works, which are scheduled to be completed by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018.

WASA work to affect part of Beetham Highway tonight

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising of traffic restrictions along the East-bound carriageway of the Beetham Highway from late tonight, east of the lighthouse in the vicinity of the PTSC compound.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to carry out repairs to a leaking 8” pipeline at this location.

These restrictions will be in place from 10 pm on Friday March 2, 2018 to 6 am on Saturday March 3, 2018

The public is being asked to use alternative routes where possible.

WASA announces Service interruption to parts of North-West Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority put out an advisory today informing customers served by the El Socorro Booster Station that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply from 8:00 p.m. on Friday March 2nd, 2018 to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday March 3rd, 2018.

WASA says this is necessary to facilitate planned maintenance work at the facility.

Customers are further advised that upon restart of the station, it may take between 8 to 12 hours for the scheduled pipe-borne service to be normalized to some areas.

Water disruption from Golden Grove Road to Sangre Grande on Wednesday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North-East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Wednesday, between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.

WASA says This has become necessary in order to carry out electrical maintenance works at the plant.
