Water disruption in Central Trinidad on Tuesday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of Central Trinidad served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant that there will be a disruption in their supply on Tuesday 10th October 2017, between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate planned maintenance works at the plant.

The affected areas will include:

Heavy rainfall shuts down 11 WASA plants from Sangre Grande to Maraval

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising that heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours, has led to the shutdown of several Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in North Trinidad.

WASA says this is due to a number of issues including turbid river conditions, clogged intake screens and power failures.

WASA says that this situation is currently affecting the supply to customers in various areas in North Trinidad from Toco/Sangre Grande in the East, to Maraval in the West.

Desalcott shutdown postponed by one week

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in areas of Central and South Trinidad of the postponement of the planned shutdown of the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott) owned and operated Desalination Plant at Point Lisas, which was scheduled to take place from Tuesday 26th September to Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

WASA said in a statement today that the temporary supply schedules, as well as other measures set to be implemented to mitigate the impact of the shortfall in supply, will also be postponed until the rescheduled shutdown.

Planned Desalcott shutdown next week to affect water supply nationwide

The Water and Sewerage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (WASA) says that the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott) has advised of a planned shutdown of its Desalination Plant at Point Lisas to facilitate maintenance works.

The Desalcott-owned and operated desalination plant provides 40 million gallons daily to WASA, which is used to supply the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in Central and South Trinidad.

Water disruptions from Golden Grove Road to Sangre Grande on Thursday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North-East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Thursday 21st September, 2017, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate cleaning of the raw water intake at the plant due to heavy rainfall and flooded river conditions experienced over the past weeks, which has resulted in reduced production at the plant.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the Carlsen Field Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Wednesday 28th June 2017, between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate planned maintenance works at the plant.

The affected areas will include:

§ Carlsen Field including Sou Sou Lands

§ Thompson Road

§ Cashew Gardens

§ Arena Road including Uquire Road and all side streets

§ La Quesa Road

§ Upper Siewdass Road

Water disruption in Port-of-Spain and environs on Sunday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the El Socorro Booster Station that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Sunday 11th June, 2017, between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate planned maintenance work at the facility.

Water disruptions in parts of South Trinidad tomorrow

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the Chatham Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Wednesday 24th May 2017, between the hours of 6 am and 12 midnight.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate pipeline interconnection works at LP 1983 Southern Main Road, Chatham.

The areas affected will include:
