Police destroy $10 million in weed

Police have destroyed over $10 million dollars in marijuana trees in Biche.

The trees were discovered and destroyed by officers of the Eastern Division, during an eradication exercise on Tuesday.

During the exercise led by Inspector Juri and Corporal Ramnarine, officers of the Eastern Division’s Special Operations Unit, Task Force, and the Biche Police Station carried out a search of a bushy area off Lasalle Road, Biche.

The search resulted in officers discovering a camp containing 10,110 marijuana trees.

Police destroy $500,000 in weed in Tobago

Tobago Divisional officers have destroyed $500,000 in marijuana during an eradication exercise in the Mt. St. George area.

The exercise took place on Sunday and was supervised by Sgt. Stewart, of the Tobago Division.

Officers attached to both the Crown Point Police Station and Tobago Division Task Force, executed an exercise in a forested area of Mt. St. George and destroyed 50 kilogrammes of cured marijuana along with two seedlings.

Officers are confident that an arrest will be made soon, as investigations are continuing into the matter.

He was speak­ing at the fifth pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion of the de­crim­i­nal­i­sa­tion of mar­i­jua­na at the Han­sraj Sumairs­ingh Mul­ti­pur­pose Com­plex, Rio Claro on Wednes­day.

Two held in Pleasantville for weed possession

Two persons were arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized by officers of the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Pleasantville district, early yesterday morning.

During the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at the Pleasantville Terrace home of a 23-year-old suspect, around 4:45 am on Thursday.

The search resulted in a gift bag containing 2.3 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered in a room of the house.

The drug has an estimated street value of $23,000.
