Police destroy $2.75 million in marijuana during Biche exercise

Five marijuana fields containing 2750 fully grown marijuana trees and 20,000 seedlings are destroyed by officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit, during a marijuana eradication exercise in the Biche district.

The exercise took place between 7 am and 1 pm, on Friday 13th July, 2018.

The exercise also included officers attached to the Air Support Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

During the exercise, officers proceeded to Newlands, Biche, where they discovered the fields in a forested area.

Rio Claro man charged with marijuana possession

A Rio Claro man is expected to appear before a Rio Claro Magistrate, charged with possession of 2.4 kilogrammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Kevin Allen, 32, a labourer, of Cuche Village, Rio Claro, was arrested and charged by officers of the Biche Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise in the Biche district on Wednesday 16th May, 2018.

During the exercise, which was led by Cpl. Surrendra Bhim, officers had cause to stop and search a silver Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle with one male occupant.

Police destroy $250,000 in marijuana in Moruga

Two marijuana camps and three marijuana nurseries were discovered by officers of the Southern Division, during a marijuana eradication exercise, in the Moruga district yesterday.

The exercise, supervised by Sgt. Deodath Seepersad, of the Moruga Police Station, took place between 8:30 am and 1 pm, on Tuesday 15th May, 2018.

The exercise also included officers attached to the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit, Air Support Unit, and Trinidad and Tobago Regiment.

Teenager charged with marijuana cultivation

A 17-year-old boy has been granted $25,000 bail with surety by a Justice of the Peace, after being charged with cultivating marijuana, following an anti-crime exercise in the Rio Claro District.

The exercise, supervised by Sgt. (Ag.) Navin Maharaj, took place between 7:30 am and 10:3 0am on Thursday and included officers of the Eastern Division Task Force, Rio Claro Police Station and Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit.

Marijuana trees, seedlings worth $8.6 million destroyed

Marijuana trees with an estimated street value of $8.68Mn were destroyed by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Maracas/St. Joseph district yesterday.

The exercise, spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Michael Daniel, was carried out under the supervision of ASP (Ag.) Leon Haynes, and included officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit and the Air Support Unit between 6:30 am and 2 pm on Tuesday 27th March, 2018.

Police find ammunition, marijuana in La Horquetta

A pistol and quantities of ammunition and marijuana were discovered by officers of the La Horquetta Police, during an anticrime exercise, conducted in the La Horquetta district this morning, police said in a statement.

Officers conducted the exercise around 6:20 am during which they proceeded to Marjorie Padmore Street, Phase 2, La Horquetta, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.

The search resulted in a pistol, two rounds of .38mm ammunition and 350 grammes of marijuana being discovered in a plastic bag.

The drug has an estimated street value of $3,500.

Police destroy marijuana trees valued at $900,000

Officers of the Southern Division Task Force have destroyed marijuana trees and cured marijuana with an estimated street value of $900,000, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Moruga district, yesterday.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Zamsheed Mohammed, supervised by Sgt. Deodath Seepersad and including officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit, the Moruga Police Station and personnel from the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force, was conducted between 11 am and 4 pm on Sunday.
