Two Trinis to receive Queen’s Young Leaders Award

Two T&T nationals are among a group of young people across the Commonwealth who will receive awards from Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, in London later this month.

Benedict Bryan and Jean-Claude Cournand were selected to receive a Queen’s Young Leaders Award on June 26, according to a release.

The awards recognise the work that young people from across the Commonwealth are doing to transform lives in their community and beyond.

US Embassy invites candidates for Youth Ambassadors Program

The US Embassy in Port-of-Spain is inviting applications for the 2018 Youth Ambassadors Program.

Six students between the ages 15-18 years and one adult mentor will be selected to participate in the three-week exchange program to be held August 7-29, 2018 in the U.S.

The U.S. Department of State funds the program, which is implemented by U.S. Embassy, Port of Spain and World Learning.

The Youth Ambassadors Program involves skill-based training, interaction with youth from other countries, and engagement with government and non-governmental organizations.
